LO: Can I compare and order angles?

Please watch this Math Antics video on youtube which explains more about the sizes of angles as a measure of turn or rotation.  You only need to watch up to 6:07.  After this, it shows you how to use a protractor and talks about complementary and supplementary angles which you don’t need to know yet!

Now have a go at completing the activities on the Word document which involve comparing and ordering angles.  There is a separate extension challenge.

This angles song is quite fun too! https://youtu.be/NVuMULQjb3o

LO: Can I answer questions about a text?

Today, I would like you to complete a reading comprehension based on a newspaper article about the rainforest.  There are two versions of the text (version 2 is a bit more wordy) but the same questions can be used with both versions.  Work through as many of the questions as you can.  If you get on to the second page, remember the answer spaces with more lines indicate you need to give a longer answer using evidence from the text to give reasons.

It is up to you whether you read the whole text first or just a paragraph at a time, answering questions as you go along.  Remember to keep using the text to help you answer the questions.

LO: Can I reflect on how the Pentecost story applies to modern life?

To finish off our Pentecost learning, I’d like you to think about what Christians might have in their “worries bag” today?  What might they be scared, anxious or nervous about?

Look at this passage from the Bible, how might the Holy Spirit help Christians today?

John 14:16-17 International Children’s Bible (ICB)

16 I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper.[a] He will give you this Helper to be with you forever. 17 The Helper is the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it does not see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you and he will be in you.

Extension: Think about this -  What might the world have been like if, when Jesus had ascended to Heaven, he hadn’t sent the Holy Spirit (The Comforter) to help Christians on Earth?  What if he had just said “Right, I’m off!” and left them to it?  How does this relate to our lives – can we do everything by ourselves or do we need people to help us?
