The children were tasked with designing and making bridges using only a certain set of materials. Cardboard, paper, glue, tape and string. The bridge had to be able to hold at least the weight of a school glue stick. Some worked well and some didn't but we explained all in our product evaluations.
The children had a go at playing the old Mayan ball game of Pok-ta-Pok! Needless to say, we found it very tricky using only our elbows, tummies and knees to move the ball around the pitch!

Using reverse transfer, the children created colourful portraits inspired by the artist Frida Kahlo.
Children were given a number card and were asked to round themselves to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 or 10000.
For the children to really embody the character- they must become him. The children stepped into his shoes and acted out key events in the story so far.
For our sparkly start, we grabbed our passports and flew to different countries in America. We studied their flags, read about their population and spoken languages and found out its capital city. As well as, some really great facts.
