Thursday

Please put any work you do in your purple exercise book or take pictures and put them on Tapestry. I can't wait to see what you get up to!

Literacy

Go through your sound mat and tricky words.

Today's blend is 'nt'.

Write the following words on the side roads on a road map (one road up the middle with two roads on the left and two on the right):

tent

vent

hint

hunt

Choose a word from the nt activity and write a sentence including that word and a tricky word.

Make sure you have your Phase 2 and 3 sound mat in front of you to help you write your sentence(s).

Carry on with your letter formation from yesterday.

Mathematics

If your child can't order numbers to 20, focus on that again today.

Recap odd and even numbers using your numicon/objects.

It's important for your child to identify the number they are looking at before saying whether it's odd or even.

Ask them: what number is this? (pointing to the numicon/objects)

Once they have worked it out then ask them: is that number odd or even?

That way they will be associating whether the number is odd or even not just looking at the numicon shape to see if there's a spare piece or not. I hope that makes sense.

Using your 100 Grid from yesterday with the coloured in even numbers, clever count the even numbers (remember this is shouting the even numbers and whispering the odd numbers).

Have a go at just saying the even numbers now, point to the even numbers as you call them out.

Do this a few times throughout the day and eventually (maybe not today but maybe over the next few days) you will be counting in 2s!

Jigsaw

See the Jigsaw subpage for a lovely activity.

P.E.

Don't forget Mr Nicholls sets activities under the P.E. section on the Class Pages overview. Mr Nicholls also wanted me to highlight the School Games Virtual Challenge as we haven't had very many children enter. All the details are on his 'P.E.' page under 'Class Pages'.
