Wednesday

Please put any work you do in your purple exercise book or take pictures and put them on Tapestry. I can't wait to see what you get up to!

Literacy

Say the sounds and tricky words on your sound mat.

Today's sound is 'th'.

The lesson is on the Bug Club for you to complete as an optional activity.

Make a  'th' crown out of paper. You can make it as elaborate as you like. Write 'th' words on your crown then fasten it round your head.

Below is an example of a sound crown for a different sound.

Recap Little Red Riding Hood.

On your Five Finger Retell I would like you to complete the 'Beginning' section.

You might want to talk about Red Riding Hood being given a basket for grandma and walking through the wood and talking to the wolf.

See what your child understands to be the beginning of the story.

Mathematics

Recap what halving means.

Another really easy activity today.

We're going to be combining halving with capacity today. Every drink your child has today, I want them to fill their beaker half way. You could also discuss capacity aspects and ask questions such as:

"How full is mummy's glass?"

"You've drunk all your drink so what is your beaker now?"

"Daddy's glass is empty, can you put water in it until it's nearly full?"

You're looking for vocabulary like: empty, nearly empty, half full, nearly full, full.

Comparative language should also be encouraged such as: "Mummy the orange juice is nearly empty but the apple juice is nearly full."

Jigsaw

Please see the Jigsaw subpage for this week's activity.

P.E.

Don't forget Mr Nicholls sets activities under the P.E. section on the Class Pages overview.
