Reception's Shared Reading Library
Twice a week (weather dependent), Reception's Shared Reading Library is put on the Infant playground outside the Reception classroom for parents and children to choose a reading book to take home to share together.
Writing
At Tanworth we use cursive handwriting. In our handwriting lessons we say to the children that all of our letters start with a ‘little smile’ … the cursive flick. It is very important that children write the little smile correctly, from left to right. This requires a lot of repetition to learn. We are also focus on the correct pencil hold, calling it our 'crocodile snap'.
