Welcome to Nursery, this is where the adventure begins! Our adults are Mrs Wheildon, Miss Stephens, Mrs Eade, Miss Patterson, Miss Ashmore and Mrs Speight. We also like to knock on the door and see Jo when she is working hard in the Nursery office. We work hard as a team to ensure children feel safe, valued and nurtured within the Nursery environment. There are lots of opportunities for children to learn through play, which we believe gives them the best start to their school life.
Here on the class page we will add regular updates so you can all of the fun that we get up to on a weekly basis.
Summer term
We've had a wonderful summer term here in Nursery....
We have welcomed new children who have settled into our Nursery family wonderfully.
We have prepared our Pre school children for their next chapter when they move into Reception class.
We have had a visit from the fire engine, thank you to Dominic's Daddy.
We have enjoyed lots of sessions of Mini Athletics.
We enjoyed our wonderful end of year visit from Little Dots.
We have enjoyed a lovely sports day and summer fair.
Plus much much more!
As we now prepare to say goodbye to our Pre school children and also to our lovely member of staff Mrs Speight, we would like to wish everyone a wonderful summer and for those not rejoining us in September we wish you all the best for the future. As always we wish to say a wonderful thank you to our lovely supportive families, we couldn't do it all without you!
Spring term in Nursery...
Although spring term was short and seemed to whizz by very quickly this didn't stop us packing in lots of fun and learning in Nursery. As the weather moved from frost into sunshine we notices all the natural changes that were brought along by the change in season. We have been taking the opportunity to take lots of local walks, doing some planting and creating lots of beautiful spring art work. Our weekly stories have taken us on a bear hunt and through lots of adventures with traditional tales. We have also enjoyed all the big celebrations that this term has brought us including world book day, Mothers day and Easter. Over at Forest school we have found ourselves plenty of mud which brings us enormous joy. We wish everyone a very Happy Easter and are most excited to see what fun the next half term will bring.
January in Nursery….
We came back to Nursery after the Christmas break welcoming seven new children to join the Nursery family. They have settled wonderfully and it had been amazing to get to know seven new little personalities. The icy cold weather conditions have presented us with lots of interesting and exciting learning opportunities and have really influenced our child led planning. The children have loved getting dressed up into their warm clothes and going out to investigate the ice. We have also had ice inside the nursery for the children to explore. We even experimented with blowing bubbles to see if they would land on the ice and freeze. We have also reintroduced Forest School after a few weeks away (due to very muddy slippy conditions before Christmas), they children loved being back over at the site and impressed us by remembering all the Forest School rules.
Autumn 2 in Nursery....
Since returning to Nursery since half term we have been busy focusing on lots of important events including Remembrance day, Diwali, Nursery Rhyme week and National kindness week. The children have thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in each of these events producing lovely artwork, engaging in themed messy play and going on lots of the adventures around the school site.
Our first half term...
This wonderful first half term has gone by in a total whirlwind of welcoming new children back in September and seeing our oldest children blossom into the wonderful pre schoolers that they have now become. We have enjoyed spending time outside, exploring the school grounds and going on lots of Autumn walks. We have been cooking, creating, building and exploring non stop. It has been amazing to see so many new friendships form. We are thoroughly looking forward to the adventures that the next half term brings. Finally we would like to wish everyone a wonderful relaxing half term break.
