Spring 2

World Book Day!

We dressed up as our favourite story book characters for the day and we worked hard to help create work for our whole school book about Kenya. We learnt about homes and houses in Kenya and drew diagrams and wrote captions to demonstrate our new knowledge.

Pancake Day

KS1 Trip to The National Sea Life Centre

To enhance our learning for our Land Ahoy topic, we went to The National Sea Life Centre to learn about sea creatures. We saw so many different kinds of fish! A lot of us have never touched and star fish and thought walking through the shark tunnel was magical.

Map Work

We have been learning about directional language to help us with our map work. We have been following directions to find our where the pirate's treasure is. We went on the playground to practise giving directions to a partner.

Reef Shark Jaws!

Year 1 have been so lucky this week! Isla's daddy very kindly loaned us some reef shark jaws. We were surprised at how light they were and Isla had lots of facts to tell us... including shark teeth are actually a special kind of scale!
