There are two sets of questions to choose from today. The main task follows on from the teams meeting this morning and includes a challenge section which you can also choose to complete.

The SUPPORT task will not have mixed coins and start with combinations of 2ps, 5ps and 10ps.

I HAVE PUT ON TODAYS LIVE LESSON POWERPOINT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LOOK AGAIN

When we meet at 2.00 to discuss your maths, we will be looking at this. Have a think about how you would answer. Can you explain a good way to count?

BODY BOOGIE ! Brain Breaks - Action Songs for Kids - Body Boogie Dance

It's time to take a break!

English

I had some lovely work emailed yesterday showing how you used your inference skills to think about our new book. Make sure you take a look at our "Wonderful Work" gallery to see everyone's ideas. The link to the gallery is on the main class page - look for the rainbow!

Yesterday you only saw the front cover with no title. Look below to see what the book was called!

It is called the Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch!  Watch and listen to the story below and enjoy!

When you have finished watching and listening look the three pictures below. Think about what is happening at that point in the story. How is the character feeling, what might they be thinking and how would this effect what they say?  It is important to think about which part of the story the picture is from because this effects what the characters could be saying. Try to be as detailed in your ideas as you can!

Today I would like you to draw and write a speech bubble for Mr Grinling, Mrs Grinling and one of those pesky seagulls! I have added a speech bubble temple for you to use below if you can print or you can record your ideas on paper and draw your speech bubble around.

The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch

Mr. Grinling, the lighthouse keeper, finds himself in a titanic battle with some ravenous seagulls. See how he comes out on top with a clever plan!

New Year promises

At this time of year people make new year resolutions or promises. It is sometimes something you would like to give up but it can be something that you would like to try or do more of.

E.g.

  • I promise to try to keep my bedroom tidier.
  • This year I am going to stop biting my nails.
  • I promise this year I  will improve my handwriting.
  • This year I would like to learn a new language.
  • This year I would like to get more exercise.
  • This year I am going to try to help my younger brother with his reading.

What is your new year promise for yourself? You can use the template below or draw your own!
