Maths - Following on from our live lesson

Today we looked how our place value knowledge can help us to add two, 2 digit numbers.

Remember we can use jottings to help us like the two examples below.

Which method do you like to use?

Today I would like you to make your own calculations to solve.  You will need to choose one number from the yellow oval and add it to  a number from the green square. How many different calculations can you make and solve?

If you would like to test your addition knowledge and would like an extra challenge try my word problems below.

Brain Break

Brain Breaks - Action Songs for Children - Body Bop

Time to have a wiggle, boogie and sing along!

English

Today I would like you to use your reading skills to read a non fiction text all about lighthouses.  When you have read the information there are some questions for you to complete. Today you will need to choose the right task for you!

Choose set 1 if you read Yellow, Blue, Green or Orange books.

Choose set 2 if you read Turquoise, Purple or Gold books.

Choose set 3 if you read White or Lime books.

Then I would like you to make a brainstorm all about lighthouses using the information you have found out and read.

Science

You did so well with our live lesson yesterday, that today I am going to let you find out a bit more about the two large groups of invertebrates and vertebrates.  All animals are either a vertebrate or an invertebrate and yesterday I asked you to find all of the groups within the vertebrates, they were;

Mammals

Reptiles

Amphibians

Birds

Fish

Today you will find out about the groups in the invertebrates too.

Follow the link below to watch the online lesson, you will need to stop the video as the lesson moves on to complete the tasks there is also a quiz to complete before you start and at the end. When you have finished the online lesson, sort the pictures below into two groups, vertebrates and invertebrates.

Good Luck!
