Please put any work you do in your purple exercise book or take pictures and put them on Tapestry. I can't wait to see what you get up to!
Literacy and Topic
Look at your sound mats and say all the sounds up to and including the 'oi' sound.
Look at the tricky words and say all the tricky words for Phase 2 and Phase 3.
The children are now on Set 11 which is the final set of Phase 3.
Today you will be learning the 'ear' sound.
Log into the Bug Club and follow the 'ear' lesson.
There are not many children who have accessed the lessons this week so I just want to make sure you know how to find it.
Once logged in, you click on 'My Stuff' and scroll all the way to the end.
If you have issues finding it, please email the office to let me know.
Write 'ear' multiple times (with chalk outside, in your favourite notebook) and every time you write it, tell an an adult something you can hear with your ear.
Mathematics
Recap the word 'near' and 'far' and the alternative words you have been discussing.
Today you are going to be measuring distance!
I would like you to choose items in your home to measure the distance to using your footsteps.
For example: see how many footsteps it is from the front door to the fridge. Now see how many footsteps it is from the front door to the tv. Is it more or less? Which one is nearer the front door? Which one is further?
PSHE - Jigsaw
Jigsaw are offering activities including stories, discussion and ‘calm me’ sessions on their website for free for families at home.
Please listen to Story 1 - Fowley's Wings.
I think this would be great for the children to do if they can.
The activities are great for the children's mental health but also your own.
Hopefully it will open up discussions with yourselves about how Jigsaw lessons are taught at school and I’m hoping the children will especially talk to you about ‘Calm Me’ time and mindfulness.
