Play sound/tricky word bingo using Phase 3 sounds and Phase 4 tricky words.

Make sure your child has learnt at least to 'some' in the Phase 4 tricky word column.

Today's blend is 'cr'.

Have a go at the following activity:

Segment the following words out loud to your children to write down. Once they have written each word, ask them to read it and tell you what it is.

crown (c-r-ow-n)

crust (c-r-u-s-t)

Choose a word from the cr activity and write a sentence including that word and a tricky word.

Make sure you have your Phase 2 and 3 sound mat in front of you to help you write your sentence(s).

This week we are going to be recapping 2D shapes.

Today I would like to use the following PowerPoint to recap 2D shapes and their properties.

Now we are going to do a shape hunt.

Ask an adult to hide the following posters around the house/garden or you can hunt for the shapes in objects around your home, for example a door being a rectangle.

When you have found a shape, colour it in on the sheet (draw your own if you don't have a printer) and describe it's properties to an adult for them to write down what you have said, for example, "4 sides and 4 corners".
