English

Following on from our work last week when we thought of adjectives to describe some characters from our story. This week we will be building up to writing a character description about one of them. To practise getting your ideas down and extending sentences can you improve my sentences.

E.g. The seagulls flew down to investigate the picnic basket.

The pesky seagulls flapped their white, fluffy wings and flew down to investigate the picnic basket.

E.g. Mrs Grinling put on her apron and baked.

Mrs Grinling, who was a brilliant baker, put on her spotty apron and and baked a delicious peach surprise for Mr Grinlings lunch.

Click on the word document to view my boring sentences, can you make them better?

What information that you know about these characters can you get into your sentences?

Theme - Surprise for Mrs Hall

A nice activity to get you going this Monday!  Sadly Mrs Hall is still poorly at home and I would like to send her something to cheer her up and let her know we are thinking of her.

Today your mission is to create a poster, card or picture with a message to cheer Mrs Hall up, to take a photograph of you holding it and send it to me!

I will then put them altogether on a video and send them to Mrs Hall.

If you would like to record a little message on video as well that would be lovely.
