English/GPS

Can I write an information text?

Today I would like you to use your notes and write an information text about the layers of the rainforest.  (It won't quite be a non-chronological report because it does make sense to do the paragraphs in a certain order!)  Try to organise your information into paragraphs, one for each layer and make it sound as interesting as you can by varying sentence starters and using some of those we tried out last week.

Check your writing for:

  • Capital letters, full stops, question marks, exclamation marks, commas in longer sentences
  • Subheadings for each section
  • Interesting sentence openers and exciting facts
  • An introductory paragraph.

You only need to do two paragraphs today, you can complete the other two tomorrow.  Take your time to make the first two paragraphs as good as you can.

Maths

Can I complete a simple symmetric figure?

https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/82/itp-symmetry

First, please use the interactive grid to create a pattern on one side of the line of symmetry.  You can then click middle button on the bottom row to show what the reflection would look like (the original pattern reflected in the line of symmetry).  Once you’ve done a few like this, please create both the original pattern and the reflected version yourself.  A good tip is to count how many squares each bit is away from the mirror line and make sure your reflection is also that many squares away.

When you feel happy with this, please work through the PPT and have a go at completing the reflected patterns/shapes.

I have provided some extra questions on a Word document if you have more time.

Spanish

Can I use the vocabulary for farm animals?

Today I would like you to use the first video to learn the names of the farm animals in Spanish.

Now practise using them by joining in with this song:

Please then have a go at the worksheet and/or the wordsearch.
