Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This week the school has been celebrating Warwickshire's most famous playwright, William Shakespeare. Children across the school in different year groups have been focusing on different plays.

On Monday, Miss Evens led an assembly where the children found out about many different phrases and words created and used by Shakespeare in his plays, which are still in our language today.

On Friday 1st April, Year visited the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston as part of their Science studies about plants.
When we arrived we toured the amazing glasshouses and explored the huge variety of plants from the Tropical, Sub-tropical, Mediterranean and Arid climates. It was amazing to see so many plants and to discover how so many are used to help make many of the medicines, food, drink and household items we use on a daily basis. As part of our ‘treasure hunt’ we even found carnivorous plants that suck up insects that land inside them and cacti that were about three times taller than us!
After a quick break we were outside to explore the gardens as we went orienteering across the grounds, stamping our orienteering cards at the special posts we identified from our maps.
To round off the day we had a super session in the classroom, where we explored the life cycle of the flowering plant and even created our own ‘human plants’ to represent the different parts of the flower and their role in pollination. Dolly made a fantastic bee, flying around the room, collecting the pollen (sticky ping pong balls), which then were transferred to the other flowers.
Today Mother Laura visited the school to lead our collective worship in the school hall. Mother Laura spoke to the children about the origins of Mothering Sunday and also about all the different mothers that are in the Bible. She also asked the children to think of all the things our mothers or mother figures do for us and how the children could help our mothers. The children all sat beautifully listening to Mother Laura. Thank you to Mother Laura for such an uplifting service today.
Don't forget that next week we will be opening the annual Mother's Day Pop Up Shop so that children can choose a present for their mums or mum figures. All gifts will be £2.00.
Maths and Munch sessions all this week for parents. These are workshop style sessions where class teachers will explain the way that maths is taught in each year group and then parents can work with their child on an activity. Wednesday is Year 1, Thursday Years 3 and 4, Friday Year 2. All sessions start at 9am and last roughly about an hour.
Today the E-Safety Committee met to discuss how we can support the children and staff in school stay safe when using the internet. A copy of the minutes can be found on the E Safety page under the children tab on the school website.

Today, Mrs Hoskins and the History Detectives led an assembly all about International Women's Day. The children shared 5 women who have changed history. The children then had to decided which women they thought had made the biggest impact in history. Ask your child which one they voted for and why? Look out on this week's newsletter for a report on the assembly by the History Detectives.
Well done to everyone for their amazing World Book Day Competitions, everyone looked fabulous. During the day the children all took part in contributing to the writing of a book all about Kenya. Miss Evens also launched a book blurb competition, so look out on the newsletter for details of how to enter.
On Tuesday and Thursday this week Years 1 and 2 performed Babushka to their parents. The children did an amazing job. They then performed again on Friday morning to their brothers and sisters, which was a real treat for them.
