  • Mother Laura's Visit

    Today Mother Laura visited the school to lead our collective worship in the school hall. Mother Laura spoke to the children about the origins of Mothering Sunday and also about all the different mothers that are in the Bible. She also asked the children to think of all the things our mothers or mother figures do for us and how the children could help our mothers. The children all sat beautifully listening to Mother Laura. Thank you to Mother Laura for such an uplifting service today.

  • Mother's Day Pop Up Shop

    Don't forget that next week we will be opening the annual Mother's Day Pop Up Shop so that children can choose a present for their mums or mum figures. All gifts will be £2.00. 

  • Maths and Munch Sessions this week

    Maths and Munch sessions all this week for parents. These are workshop style sessions where class teachers will explain the way that maths is taught in each year group and then parents can work with their child on an activity. Wednesday is Year 1, Thursday Years 3 and 4, Friday Year 2. All sessions start at 9am and last roughly about an hour.

  • E Safety Committee Meeting

    Today the E-Safety Committee met to discuss how we can support the children and staff in school stay safe when using the internet. A copy of the minutes can be found on the E Safety page under the children tab on the school website.

  • Science Week

    It's Science Week this week and once more Tanworth are taking part. The theme this year is 'growth'. Each class is focussing on one area linked to growth. 

    Reception: Life Cycles

    Year 1: Baby-adult animal growth

    Year 2: Human growth investigation

    Year 3: Plant growth experiment

    Year 4: Bees and biodiversity

    Year 5: Nutrition and sustainability and growth

    Year 6: Growth on Mars

     

    The children will be sharing their learning on Friday in a special assembly. 

    The Science Committee and Playground Science Leaders are also using this week to launch the playground Science bags with the children. 

  • International Women's Day

    Monday 7th March 2022

    Today, Mrs Hoskins and the History Detectives led an assembly all about International Women's Day. The children shared 5 women who have changed history. The children then had to decided which women they thought had made the biggest impact in history. Ask your child which one they voted for and why? Look out on this week's newsletter for a report on the assembly by the History Detectives. 

  • World Book Day

    Well done to everyone for their amazing World Book Day Competitions, everyone looked fabulous. During the day the children all took part in contributing to the writing of a book all about Kenya. Miss Evens also launched a book blurb competition, so look out on the newsletter for details of how to enter.
