  • Class 6's Trip to RAF Cosford

    Wed 26 Feb 2020 S.Wilding

Class six thoroughly enjoyed our exciting day out to RAF Cosford in the Midlands. We are learning about The Birmingham Blitz and found out how crucial Birmingham was in producing air crafts during World War II. The world-famous Spitfire is said to be the reason that we won the Battle of Britain and we had the privilege of seeing the oldest Spitfire that fought in the Battle of Britain. We saw many other air crafts from WWII and WWI, as well as some more modern air crafts used in The Cold War. We had a great day out and the children would definitely recommend the trip to others. Visit our class page to see pictures of our fun day out.

  • School Visitor-WWII Coding- Charlotte Webb

    Mon 24 Feb 2020 S.Wilding

We had the pleasure of Mrs Charlotte Webb coming to class six and talking about her role during WWII. It was amazing to hear all about Bletchley Park and how Mrs Webb delivered coded messages to decoders, who found out vital information or movements of the Axis from reading and working out their coded messages.

The children enjoyed hearing all about Mrs Webb's experiences, looking at pictures and had lots of interesting questions to ask. They all want to go and visit Bletchley Park now!

Many thanks to the Laurence's who organised the visit for us, myself and the children are extremely grateful.
