Whole School Art Day!

In class 6 we studied Vincent Van Gogh for the whole day. We enjoyed learning all about the impressionism art movement and had a go sketching using all the lines and emotion that they used. We thought it was astonishing how Gogh only became famous after his death and it was sad to know that Gogh was a very unhappy person and spent the majority of his life being depressed. We thought it might have been because no one enjoyed his artwork when he was alive! Hopefully he can be happy now, knowing how famous he is and how his art is worth millions of pounds!

Geography

In Geography we have been learning about weathering and erosion. We carried out experiments to test: Chemical weathering, physical weathering, biological weathering and erosion. We had great fun getting stuck in and discovering what happens.

Wild Waters

Our Autumn 1 topic concentrated on the big problem we have today: plastic. In particular, how it effects our oceans. The children felt very passionately about this and wanted to try and make a change; so, they suggested that we send a letter to big supermarket retailers and ask them to reduce the plastic that they use. So we did just that! Fingers crossed we hear back from them soon.
