Literacy

Read your sounds and tricky words on your sound mat.

Today's sound is 'igh'.

This is a trigraph because it has three letters to make one sound.

The lesson is on the Bug Club for you to complete as an optional activity.

Do a 'igh' Bingo.

Put the following 'igh' words in a Bingo grid:

high, right, sigh, light, fight, night.

Adult to say a word, child to cross it off on the Bingo mat.

Ask them to really listen to the first and last sound as this might help them.

Recap the story of Cinderella.

Complete the 'Beginning' section of the Five Finger Retell sheet that we started yesterday.

Remember you can draw or write in the boxes.

As a treat, your parents might let you watch a Cinderella film if you have one.

Mathematics

I've seen some really lovely observations on Tapestry of your positional language and it looks like you are doing really well so today I'm going to make it more challenging.

If you want to carry on doing positional language like yesterday that is fine but if you found it easy try using directional language instead.

You are going to give someone in your household directions to a certain object.

Use words like: forward, backward, turn left, turn right.

For example: walk forward 20 steps, turn left, walk forward 10 steps.

Give one direction at a time and try to think about how many steps you might need. Try not to overestimate it.
